Job Description

RolePurpose:

This personwill be responsible for design, development, enhancement, updates, andmaintenance of analytics and dashboard solutions to proactively support RiskManagement, Patient Safety and Employee Safety activities, and other seniorleaders of the company. The Data Analyst / Report Writer is responsible forcollecting, analyzing and reporting on healthcare data including Claims,Patient, and Provider information.

 

Thisposition develops and maintains reports and dashboards as required.

 

Strongworking experience in BI Tools is required such as Salesforce, Cognos, SAPBusiness Objects or other similar tools. Strong working experience in buildingreporting/analytics. Strong healthcare domain experience is preferred. Shouldhave working knowledge of data conversion.

 

Provides keyinformation critical to decision making, leveraging advanced analytical,development, and database skills to deliver value to key stakeholders. Providestimely and accurate routine end user support inclusive of issue identificationand resolution.

 

The DataAnalyst / Report Writer works with minimal supervision to ensure that changesto business functions, processes, financials, people and organizationalstructure are optimized with information and technology to support the businessstrategy and utilizes strong facilitation skills to elicit requirements fromcross functional teams at all levels of the organization.

 

The analyst will review and verify data integritywithin the database by running diagnostic reviews of the data to verify thedata is homogenous and will report and review all suspected outliers. They willwork collaboratively with the team to make sure that any system changes willnot adversely impact reports or the database integrity. Conducts routinemaintenance to the system to clean the database and the items with in it.

 

The personmust be able to function with minimal supervision/direction, regularly operateunder strict deadlines.

 

Responsibilities:

Dutiesinclude developing and documenting technical specifications based on businessneeds, creating the specified analytic and/or dashboard functionality,validation, and training to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of ad hocreporting and dashboard functionality.

Works with decision makers and analysts to identify anddocument the business requirements behind ad hoc and dashboard reporting needs.

Creates and documents ad hoc reporting technicalspecifications based on the business requirements presented by the decisionmakers and analysts.

Develops ad hoc reporting tools and/or dashboards to supportthe needs of decision makers and analysts across the system.

Conducts routine maintenance of the data bases and runsdiagnostics to maintain a clean data repository.

Researches, analyzes, and understands entity business flowin order to facilitate ad hoc tool development.

Maintains and distributes monthly reports includingrefreshing of standard reports as well as designing and providing ad hocreports upon requests.

Deliverables are generated and distributed timely,reflecting detailed and accurate information

Providedocumentation and training to new users on analytics reporting environment andtool options.

Develop aworking relationship with analytics data users to build an understanding ofdata requirements.

Conductelicitation sessions to gain an understanding of the business problem beingaddressed.

Analyze,specify, and create detailed requirements definition documentation which mayinclude process flows, user interface mock-ups, reports and data models.

Works tomaintain the integrity of the data bases and the data contained in them.

Conductrequirement verification and validation sessions.

Evaluate andpresent recommendations for process improvement initiatives. 




Qualifications

MinimumRequirements:


Bachelor's degree required

Must have excellent business analysis skills and be able tointeract with business staff to derive and interpret business needs

5 years of Report Development Data Mining, using Businessintelligence platforms such as Salesforce, Cognos, SAPBusiness Objects or other similar tools including SQL.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

5 years ofexperience working with customers to develop strategic solutions to complexbusiness problems

3 years ofexperience in the healthcare industry, with understanding of data in healthcareorganizations.

Strong analyticalskills

Excellent verbaland written communication skills, with ability to influence and fostercollaborative relationships at all levels of the organization.

Ability to handlemultiple tasks simultaneously, meet time sensitive deadlines and organizeworkload with general supervision. 

Willingness to workindividually and as part of a team to achieve business objectives.
