The 3M Columbia manufacturing plant is seeking candidates to work in the Plant Engineering department as a Maintenance Mechanic.

Work with engineering and production personnel during the troubleshooting, modification, fabrication, and repair of plant equipment, utilities and processes.

The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for but not limited to the following duties: troubleshoot and perform preventative and corrective maintenance on process and facility equipment such as boilers, compressors, forklifts, overhead hoists, air handlers, plant process and support equipment. Perform maintenance on electronic, industrial electrical, hydraulics, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.

**Qualified candidates will be required to take and pass 3M elected testing as part of the selection process.

This position may require working:

Either a 2nd or 3rd shift depending on shift availability

Overtime

* Holidays
* Short notice call in

Qualifications

Basic/Minimum Qualifications:

* Two year technical degree in a maintenance field.
* PLC Experience

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience working with electrical equipment
* Basic computer knowledge
* Experience problem solving and troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment.
* Experience operating various types of equipment, hand tools, hoists, and machinery.
* Experience using independent judgment to diagnose problems and decide best solutions to resolve issues.
* Experience operating, maintaining and repairing tools and equipment.
* Possess effective communication skills.
