Interstate Brands Corporation (Wonder Bread / Hostess Cake) in St. Louis has an excellent opportunity for an experienced team leader / supervisor with a knowledge of the bakery industry and related production, storage and equipment cleaning practices.

Acting in support of the Sanitation Manager, the chosen candidate will manage, motivate and evaluate Plant Sanitation crew members while ensuring that food safety and facility cleanliness standards are met. This position is accountable for optimizing manpower and equipment resources; monitoring supply expenses; and inspecting and educating local bakery departments on food safety and cleanliness in the handling, product and transportation of both ingredients and finished products. Demonstrating the same commitment to excellence that Interstate Brands in known for, you will promote safety through proper work procedures and orderly work environments, as well as implement HACCP as needed and ensure compliance with contractual and labor relations issues.

Requirements

The dynamic, proactive candidate we seek must have:

* Minimum 3 years' experience as a Plant Supervisor (or higher) with exposure to GMPs
* General knowledge of the baking industry, supply chain best practices (i.e., inspecting, receiving and storing ingredients, bulk food bins, etc.), allergens and bold issues
* Pest control experience, including the use of chemical / non-chemical controls, as well as certification in the use of pesticides and cleaners in bakeries and depots
* Familiarity with the American Institute of Baking inspection procedures
* Demonstrated decision-making and follow-through skills, in addition to the ability to promptly identify and resolve problems
* Effective communication and employee motivational abilities

Preferred candidates will have a Pest Control license (or ability to obtain within 6 months) and / or AIB or similar accredited Advanced Sanitation course work and training
