Applies computer skills to efficiently and accurately provide word processing, e-mail, presentation graphics, spreadsheets, database and/or desktop publishing. Inspects or proofreads documents, forms, records or other materials for accuracy and completeness according to established procedures; assure conformance to established guidelines and standards. Demonstrates initiative and ability to work independently by effectively following oral and/or written instructions. Analyzes, interprets, recommends and implements policy and/or procedural guidelines/changes. Composes memos, letters or other materials independently or from rough draft applying correct sentence structure, grammar, word usage, spelling and punctuation. Successfully coordinates work flow and activities to meet time lines. Develops and/or revises work procedures/methods to improve or complete processes. Organizes and maintains filing and record keeping system. Transcribes dictation of field visits, letters, reports, and other documents. Assists with training and providing work direction and guidance to others as assigned. Operates a variety of office equipment including typewriter, computer, calculator, binding machine, copy machine, and dictation equipment. Makes arrangements for meetings, conference calls, and conferences including travel and lodging. May help with budget preparation and control. Uses initiative and judgment to resolve problems and unfamiliar situations not covered by established procedures or prior experiences. Interacts with clients for purpose of transmitting or obtaining information. Provides note taking and facilitation for meetings as needed by a professional group or organizational department. Greets visitors and answers telephones; screens and directs calls and visitors to appropriate personnel. Performs other duties as assigned. Associates Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred. Experience:Five years minimum related experience required. Computer Skills:Typing WPM: 65+ MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint, MS Project helpful but not required), Internet Explorer, Windows XP Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Work Environment:Office environment Office Hours, Dress Code, other policies: The standard work week is five days, commencing on Monday morning and ending the following Friday. Normal business hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The lunch period for most employees is 12 noon to 1 p.m. Regular exceptions should be authorized by your supervisor or service area manager. Your supervisor or service area manager will advise you of your particular schedule.Additional hours as needed for training, meetings, and special projects or to meet deadlines and commitments.
